Spending Money On Losing Weight

Just about a year ago, I quit smoking. I smoked Ĺ pack of cigarettes a day for about 20 years. Iím very happy to have quit, however, I gained approx. 15 pounds. I hate the extra weight. None of my clothes fit and I am not interested in shopping for new clothes. I feel icky and donít like what I see in the mirror.

So, tonight I joined Weight Watchers Online. I used WW 10 years ago and really like the points program. They are offering 7 days free and then $49 for one month and after that itís $16.95/month.

If I keeps me focused on healthy eating, then itís worth every penny. Iíll periodically blog about my weight loss progress.

    Wow! I swear we lead parallel lives! I quit smoking 6 years ago, after 18 years, and gained 20 pounds. After my husbands heart attack, he quit smoking too and gained about 80 pounds! I have a bonus coming up, that should go to pay off more debt, but I am going to use it to join WW for DH and I. (If I don't go, he won't). I figure it is money to save his life, before he ends up with Diabetes like his father or another heart attack!!

    I quit smoking 15 years ago and I gained 20 pounds too so i know how you feel. but at least I feel healthier! And I have saved a lot of money not buying 2 packs a day.

    I love Weight Watchers. I have lost 40 pounds, although I've hit a plateau lately of my own making. I go to the meetings and utilize the online site daily! Lots of good recipes out there. Feel free to contact me if you want to talk WW Smile

    Boo - good luck with getting your husband on the plan. Are you going to do Core or Points? I do Points....

    HouseHopeful - I am finding the online tool to be wonderful! I only started it yesterday, but I'm already back into the Point thing. Today, I ate a boiled egg and a single serving of Silk Soy Milk for breakfast (I'm STARVING -- it's 11:45 here) and for lunch I'm going to have 1 cup of veggie soup, 3 oz. of turkey lunchmeat and an apple. I do not know what's for dinner yet! I actually totally dig the Point thing.

    I bought the Weight Watchers materials at EBay for $40 or so several years ago and lost over 75 pounds on my own. Once you get the program down you'll be able to do it on your own and save money. Good luck!
